A BEACH HOTEL BUILT OUT OF LOVE FOR THE CITY

The ideas behind Strandhotellet originated in 2014, and 3 years later, the bath hotel opened on the 1. of July 2017.

The hotel is owned by husband and wife Steffen and Marie Louise Ebdrup, who lives in Aarhus, but have a great love and veneration for Blokhus and Northern Jutland.

With a desire to create a hotel with respect for the location, there was only one option, and that was to build an exclusive beach hotel. Jørgen Ussing from UBN arkitekter has created a classic building that melts into the beautiful architecture and nature in and around Blokhus. The building contains references to the danish beach hotels of the 1920 and 1930s, but it has all the facilities that are expected of an exclusive hotel in 2017, e.g. a luxury wellness area and Wi-Fi.

Strandhotellet was at the first designed to only have 10 rooms, but the need for more rooms soon became apparent, and so we have expanded it into 37 lovely double rooms and two apartments in the historic Chancellery House.

We want Strandhotellet to become an attractive destination the throughout year, with a restaurant, orangery, seminar pavilion, wellness, fitness and lounge.
